Changing the Focus of Financial Planning - One Year Later! - NACUBO session

  • NACUBO Planning, Budgeting, and Analytics Forum (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

At last year’s forum, St. Petersburg College shared how the institution had just begun their transformational journey of moving to an agile planning and reporting model. Join them now to examine how they deployed this new methodology, both functionally and technically. Panelists will focus on roadmap items that have been deployed to date, such as the budgeting process, items currently in flight, including forecasting and projections, as well as items that are potentially in the queue, for example, strategic modeling and tuition revenue planning. See how they have moved from tactical to transformational and discover what else lies ahead on their planning and reporting roadmap.

Alliance Session: St. Petersburg College: "Cloudy" with a Chance of Oracle EPM Planning

The financial climate in higher education has become more volatile and more unpredictable than ever. As a result, organizations must learn to become more nimble and more strategic when executing financial plans. In this session, you will learn about the SPC (St. Petersburg College) journey to implement Oracle EPM Cloud in order to plan and report more efficiently, allowing the college to realize strategic and actionable items. This session will show how SPC reinvented their budget process to accomplish this and will focus on the journey; as to where SPC was, where they are now, and where they are going, in terms of financial planning and reporting.

Alliance Session: DePaul University's Reporting Journey with Oracle Fusion Cloud

Join us as we review DePaul University's journey through implementing an all-inclusive data model solution with Oracle Fusion Analytic Warehouse. Many institutions today are craving more detail than ever before, and the transparency among various areas is often lacking. Institutions are beginning to go to the cloud for ERP but often find themselves with a reporting gap, including HR reporting, budgetary control, and student financials.

In this presentation, we will walk through the missing elements that came out of the initial ERP implementation to provide lessons learned for those facing a similar challenge. We will then examine the usage of FAW and the correlating data model, which expedites the creation of an initial data model. While a traditional robust data model might take years, we expect to see benefits within months.
