On a monthly basis, this pharmaceutical company’s Finance team models a complete sales forecast based on third-party logistics provider data. This is then fed to Oracle Process Manufacturing in EBS-R12, which handles production scheduling and manufacturing processes.
However, these processes are at totally different levels of detail. Forecasters plan Product units, not SKU-level units! As a result, we developed a solution to translate summary forecast data into detailed production forecasts using Oracle Application Express (APEX), Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and Oracle Hyperion Planning. We use an Oracle database to store our mappings, which are maintained through an Oracle APEX application embedded in OBIEE, while Hyperion Planning acts as a repository for data and a reporting engine supporting analytics in OBIEE and Smart View. Join us for an overview of our project and applications used to support this forecasting process.
